Oslo - Day 2, Sunday

I had quite a lovely day today. While Marco was packing his stuff for the trip and doing the laundry, I went on a long walk. It was cloudy (but not cold) at first and then got better and better. I went into the city and then along the water, enjoying the beautiful view all the time. Now I'm back at Marco's flat for a peaceful evening before the second leg of our trip starts tomorrow.

Also I've figured out a way today how to post the pictures in the correct order which is a huge improvement :-)

Saw this art installation today, no idea what these divers are supposed to tell me but I think it's pretty cool.

There are very comfy seats where you can even put your feet up. I sat there for a while, enjoyed the view and had ice cream :-)

That's a Spanish sailing vessels from 1927 called Juan Sebastian de Elcano, it's used as a training ship for the Spanish Navy. It was open to the public today and of course I had a look.

Hamburg -> Oslo - Day 1, Saturday

I flew to Oslo today and though the city greeted me with a cloudy sky I'm really happy to be here. Due to the Gay Pride Parade public transport was disrupted but I still made it to Marco's house. We took a long walk today to his office because there were a few projects he still had to finish (meanwhile I took advantage of the free wifi ;-). Now we're watching a movie before it's time to go to sleep.

I noticed that unfortunately it's pretty hard to edit the blog on a phone or tablet, actually it's a rather crappy system so please don't be confused if the layout looks weird. Also the order of the pictures might not be correct, the newer ones are shown on top and the older ones at the bottom and I haven't yet found a way to change that.

I am ready!

My suitcase is packed (and I probably packed too much stuff...) and I'm well prepared to leave for the airport tomorrow. My first stop will be Oslo where I'm going to pick up my travel companion Marco. On Monday the journey continues and we'll board a plane to San Francisco. I'm really excited, after almost one year of planning it's time to get started now!

Go West - California here I come

It's time to pack my bag again! The next big trip will lead me to the West Coast of the US. I'll go on a (hopefully!) epic roadtrip with my friend Marco (who may or may not decide to show his face here ;-)) for 3 1/2 weeks, starting on June 30 2014. I will try to keep a virtual diary here during my trip where I'll share my experiences. I really can't wait, only one week to go!

You can see our itinerary in the picture below. The trip starts and ends in San Francisco. From there we'll get a rental car, drive down along the coast to LA and San Diego first and then leave the Pacific behind us to go to Las Vegas, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, lots of awesome destinations.
